abela goes UNI!

UNI is the "Children store of the year 2010" in Sweden, with shops in Stockholm, Linköping and Japan. They sell eco, and uni-sex children's wear collection. I'm so proud and happy that UNI, Jag Leker Träd and Baby Yeah Yeah want to sell handmade abela items in their shop. Thank you!

Baby blanket

The warmth, snugness and peace of mind that a baby’s blanket is always associated with is what inspires me to make them for new bundles of joy in the first place. Above are some baby blankets currently in my care, they are made from african fabric or reused Scandinavian fabric and lined with soft fleece.

Barnvagnsfilt och babymössa i afrikansk tyg!

En bekant fick en pojke, vad är bäst och ge om inte en baby filt och tillhörande mössa! Jag sydde filten i afrikansk tyg i blå-grön-orange nyanser inköpt från Ghana. Mössan är av samma tyg, plus en bit manchester. Mössan är fodrade med havsblå mjuk fleece.

A friend of mine got a baby boy, the best present to give! Well a baby blanket for the stroller or crib and a baby bonnet. I sew the blanket in african wax print bought in Ghana, and the bonnet in same fabric combined with a black manchester fabric. I used a soft ocean blue fleece as lining.
